Our client has a new opening for an experienced Trusts and Probate Solicitor to join the team at their Chichester office.
Probate and Estate Administration: Managing a variety of cases, from basic estates (below the inheritance tax threshold) to more complex taxable estates requiring IHT400 forms and relevant schedules, including the application of appropriate tax reliefs.
Intestate Estates: Handling cases where the deceased died intestate, with a sound understanding of intestacy rules and procedures.
Trusts Knowledge: Demonstrating an understanding of trusts, including tax principles affecting trusts upon creation and throughout their lifetime. Advising on their application in wills or during the creation of lifetime trusts.
Life Interest and Discretionary Trusts: Managing the setup and administration of trusts arising from wills, including processes for collapsing discretionary trusts when appropriate during estate administration.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have 3+ years of PQE in a relevant area, with STEP membership (or willingness to work towards it) being advantageous but not essential.
- Be a team player who is flexible, self-sufficient, and adept at managing a diverse client base, including older clients and high-net-worth individuals.
- Possess strong IT skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Work independently while receiving support and supervision as needed.
